About Frequency Conversions
Frequency measures the number of cycles per second of a periodic event. The Hertz (Hz) is the SI unit of frequency, equal to one cycle per second. Kilohertz (kHz) and Megahertz (MHz) are used in audio engineering and radio broadcasting. Gigahertz (GHz) is used for processor clock speeds and Wi-Fi frequencies (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands). Terahertz (THz) is used in spectroscopy and advanced imaging. RPM (revolutions per minute) is commonly used to measure rotational speed of engines and motors - one RPM equals 1/60 Hz.
